1070 THE FAN - CLASSIC REPLAYS: Between December
26 and January 6, 1070 The Fan will be replaying some of the greatest
games of all time in the history of Indiana sports. Here is a rundown
of some upcoming games.

12-2:30am: Wild Card Playoffs - Chiefs at
Colts (1/6/07)
Colts 23, Kansas City 8
The Chiefs were a trendy pick in this AFC Wild Card
contest. Their running game was supposed to dominate
the Colts less-than-stellar defense. But the Colts
turned in a remarkable performance, holding Larry Johnson
to 32 yards, while rookie Joseph Addai ran for 122
and a TD for the Colts, as Indianapolis moved into
the second round of the playoffs to face the Ravens

2:30-5:30am: Super Bowl XLI-
Colts vs. Bears (2/4/07)
Colts 29, Bears 17
The AFC champion Indianapolis Colts defeated the
NFC champion Chicago Bears 29-17. The Colts earned
their first championship since moving to Indianapolis,
and the second in Colts franchise history. Peyton
Manning was named the game's Most Valuable Player,
completing 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown,
with one interception.

5:30-9:30am: 1994 Brickyard 400
Rick Mast sat on the pole, but it was Pittsboro, Ind., native Jeff Gordon who
won the inaugural race. During the three hour race, there were only six caution
flags and 21 lead changes involving 13 drivers. Gordon took home $613,000 in
prize money. The total purse was $3.2 million.

9:30am-1:30pm 1996 Indy 500
This
was the first 500 to be part of the Indy Racing League,
and as a result many of the top teams boycotted the
event and instead staged their own "US 500" at Michigan.
Scott Brayton won the pole but was killed in practice,
leaving Tony Stewart to take the green flag. 17
rookies made the race, and Buddy Lazier took the
checkers.

1:30-4:30pm: 2002 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals,
Game 5: Pacers at Nets
Nets 120, Pacers
109
The Nets survived another heroic effort by Miller and outlasted the Indiana Pacers
in double overtime, 120-109, in Game Five of their Eastern Conference first-round
series. Miller made one of the great buzzer-beaters in playoff history to force
overtime, then caught the Nets entirely off guard with a driving dunk that forced
the second extra session.

4:30-6:30pm: Pacers at Suns (12/7/97)
Pacers 99, Suns 97 (OT)
With 2.5 seconds remaining, Reggie Miller took a
midcourt inbounds pass from Mark Pope, planted his
feet and fired an arching shot over Phoenix's Jason
Kidd that swished through as the horn sounded to give
the Indiana Pacers their sixth straight victory, 99-97
over the Phoenix Suns. Rik Smits scored 16 points and
Jalen Rose added 14 for the Pacers.
